About Us
Veda Vedanta Gurukula Mahavidyalaya (VVGM) is a unit of Sri Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam, Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri. It is an institution focussed on study, research and propagation of Vedas and Vedic knowledge. Founded in 1990-91, this institution had been associated with Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetham for many years as an affiliate before becoming an integral unit of the Peetham. Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetham is the first and foremost of the four Amnaya Peethas (Ultimate seats of Vedic Knowledge) established by Jagadguru Sri Adi Shankaracharya.
This institution is located in Madipadu Village, Achampet Mandal, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. This place is also knowledge as Shweta Sringachalam and “Bharadwaja Tapakshetram”.
A splendid temple dedicated to Sharada Parameshwari adorns the campus. Also there is a temple for Sri Vidya Ganapati.

Rig Veda
Rig Veda Verily, the Rig Veda is the source of all Vedic Knowledge. When Sage Vedavyasa compiled and categorized the Vedas, the first Veda he took up is Rig Veda. Rig Veda is derived from the Sanskrit word , ‘Rik’ which means, ‘to invoke, to praise (the divinity).’ ‘Rik’ has been derived from the root, ‘Ruchastutau’ (ऋचा स्तुतौ).
Yajur Veda
Yajur Veda is the second of the four Vedas after Rig Veda. The Yajur Veda has two broad branches, viz. Shukla Yajur Veda and Krishna Yajur Veda. The difference between these two branches is now briefly explained. Every Veda has two components: Mantra and Brahmana. The Upanishads are part of Brahmana. Sama Veda
Group of Mantras are referred to as Samhita. The elaboration of these mantras are encapsulated in the Brahmana section of the Veda. In Sama Veda, there are two parts: Mantra Samhita and Gaana Samhita. Mantra Samhita is divided into Purvarchik and Uttararchik. In turn, Purvarchik has two components: Veyagaan and Aaranyakgaan.
Atharva Veda
Atharva Veda Samhita is the fourth of the four Vedas. Samhita in the context of “Atharva Veda Samhita” means “part of mantra.” Atharva Veda is also referred to as ‘Brahma Veda’. It has invocations and praises to the Gods. It is also a curative science. It has mantras for curing various ailments, both bodily and mental, as well as for peace…
Temples and Rituals
All the regular puja rituals at the temples are conducted as per the traditions followed in Sringeri and branches of Sri Sharada Peetham. Dasara (also called Sharannavaratri) festival is celebrated with great fervor. Devotees can participate in person by visiting the temples or remotely by sponsoring for the various rituals, regular as well as occasion–specific events. Various rituals are conducted as per the request from devotees for their specific needs.
