At Veda Vedanta Gurukula Mahavidyalaya (VVGM), we invite young seekers to immerse themselves in the sacred river of Vedic knowledge—flowing from the divine source of the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, established by Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya Himself. Guided by the living tradition of the Sringeri Jagadgurus, our Gurukula aims to mould future torchbearers of Sanatana Dharma with unwavering commitment to dharma, discipline, and devotion.

Brief Introduction to the Vedic School

Veda Vedanta Gurukula Mahavidyalaya (VVGM) is a sacred center of Vedic learning established under the divine guidance of Sri Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam, Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri—the first Peetham founded by Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya. Located in the tranquil village of Madipadu, Palnad District, Andhra Pradesh, the Gurukula provides a spiritually immersive, residential Vedic education for young Brahmacharins, rooted in the ancient Guru–Shishya Parampara.

This Gurukula is not merely an academic institution—it is a spiritual sanctuary where young minds are molded into torchbearers of Sanatana Dharma and custodians of sacred knowledge, through Jnana, Bhakti, and Seva.

Mission:
To revive and radiate the timeless wisdom of the Vedas and Vedanta, enabling sincere seekers to live a life of purpose, purity, and spiritual excellence, guided by the eternal light of Sringeri Jagadgurus.

Vision:
By 2035, VVGM aspires to be among the top ten global institutions for Vedic education—preserving, teaching, and researching the profound insights of the Vedas, Upanishads, and Advaita Vedanta—while fostering the holistic development of character, discipline, devotion, and leadership in every student.

Divine Disciplines – Vedic Courses Offered

Under the guidance of learned Acharyas, students will be initiated into the profound study of one of the following branches, based on their respective ‘Swashakha’:

  • Krishna Yajur VedamTaittiriya Shakha
  • Shukla Yajur VedamKanva Shakha
  • Rig VedamShakala Shakha

 Spiritual Milestones in the Path of Learning

Each Vedic path is structured with ascending milestones, leading to mastery:

Krishna Yajur / Rig Vedam

  • Moolam – after 6 to 7 years
  • Kramapati – after 8 to 9 years
  • Ghanapati – after 10 to 13 years

Shukla Yajur Vedam

  • Moolam – after 4 years
  • Kramapati – after 6 years
  • Ghanapati – after 9 years

Each milestone is recognized and certified by the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, ensuring both authenticity and reverence in the tradition of Vedic scholarship.

In addition, learning in Smartam will be provided to students interested in pursuing Smartam, based on the Swashakha of the respective student in one of the following three Veda branches: Krishna Yajur Veda (Taittireeya Shakha), Shukla Yajur Veda (Kanva Shakha) and Rig Veda (Shakala Shakha). Duration for Smartam studies will be three to four years, and students will be eligible to give examination conducted by Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetham.

Important Dates and Admission Timeline

  • Application Period: Opens during Phalguna–Chaitra masa (March–April-May-June-July)
  • Interviews/Selection: Held at the Gurukula campus (April–May-June-July)
  • Academic Year Begins: Ashadha masa (around June–July), with the blessings of the Sringeri Jagadgurus

Gurukula Life – A Divine Ambience

Gurukule vasathe nityam” – the student dwells in the Guru’s abode, learning by service and devotion.

  • Residential Gurukula with serene, sattvic atmosphere
  • Daily Vedic rituals, Sandhyavandanam, Agni Karyam, and Parayanam

Vidya daanam atinamam” – The gift of knowledge is the highest.

  • Entirely Free of Cost – Education, stay, food, books, clothing, healthcare
  • Monthly Stipend & financial incentives – Financial support is provided throughout the course for those in need and those who successfully pass the Sringeri examination as per milestones
  • Merit-Based Rewards – On successful completion of Moolam, Kramapati, and Ghanapati levels and passing prescribed Sringeri exams

Certification & Future Pathways

  • Certifications awarded by Sringeri Sharada Peetham—recognized across India and abroad

Admissions Criteria

Who Can Apply – Eligibility for the Sacred Path

  • Boys aged 8 to 14 years, blessed with devotion, discipline, and a desire to serve dharma
  • Willingness to dedicate themselves to a lifestyle of brahmacharya, study, and seva
  • Basic memorization skills; prior knowledge of Sanskrit or shlokas is appreciated but not mandatory
  • Students who have clear pronunciation of sacred Samskrutam shlokas 
  • Students interested to join should ideally have Veda Parampara learning in their families, and students will be admitted into the above mentioned three branches of Veda based on their Swashaka
  • Parents who understand and support the sacred commitment required

This path is not just education—it is initiation into a life of Tapasya, divine service and upholding Sanatana Dharma.

      • Selected students and parents will be invited to the Gurukula for an interview and orientation with the Veda Adhyapaks and the administration of the Vedapathashala.
  2. Acceptance & Initiation
    • Upon selection, students will be admitted to the divine Gurukula environment and begin their journey under the blessings of the Sringeri Jagadgurus.

  • Sri K. Rama Krishna Pranav – Shukla Yajurveda Ghanantha Vidwan(Studied from Sri Venkateswara Veda Vignana Peetham)

They are dedicated to imparting timeless Vedic knowledge through traditional oral methods blended with compassionate mentorship and spiritual guidance. Oter Veda Adhyapaks will be on-boarded as needed.
