B. Envisioned Future [By 2035]

1. Mission [Big, Hairy Audacious Goal or BHAG]:

By 2035, Veda Vedanta Gurukula Mahavidyalaya will be among the top ten institutions in the world imparting Knowledge of the Vedas and the Vedic Wisdom to seekers through teaching, learning and research.

2. Vivid Description

By 2035, the Veda Vedanta Gurukula Mahavidyalaya will have three centres of excellence:

Campus 1, with about 51 acres, will have facilities needed for at least 20 Ghanapati Veda Gurus and over two hundred students. Appropriate infrastructure for housing, learning, etc., with areas for Vedic teaching and learning, library, etc., will be the focal point of the institution. Temples of Sharada Devi, Vidya Ganapati, Dakshinamurthi, Vedamurthi, Adi Sankara Bhagavadpadacharya, Sringeri Jagadgurus, etc., will adorn this campus. We will enable holistic development of the students, including imparting them with life skills and vocational education, yoga, martial arts, sangeetham, instrumental music, etc., besides Vedic education and proficiency in Samskrutam. Research will be an integral part of this campus, which may be propelled through vibrant partnerships.

By 2035, we will have at least the following branches of Vedic learning:

  • Rig Vedam
  • Krishna Yajur Vedam -Taittireeya Shakha
  • Shukla Yajur Vedam – Kanva Shakha
  • Shukla Yajur Vedam – Madhyandina Shakha
  • Sama Vedam
  • Atharva Vedam

We will also have facilities to teach students who are interested to pursue Krishna Yajurvedam Smartham.

We will graduate at least two ‘Ghanapatis’ and three ‘Kramapathis’ annually, starting from 2035. These titles have will be awarded based on successful completion of the rigorous examinations conducted by the Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetham. Along with the certificate of such graduation awarded by their Holinesses, the Jagadgurus of Sringeri, the successful students will be awarded suitable monetary recognition for their extraordinary efforts.

The Veda Adhyapaks will be chosen for their scholarship, commitment to propagate the Vedic learning and deep interest to compassionately teach the students. They will be provided decent compensation and an excellent ambience to live their life in accordance with the Vedic injunctions.

We will seek to bring validity to the education of our vidyarthis, so that they can earn degrees from renowned universities, through various affiliations. This campus will enable various scholars to do Ph.D. programmes on Vedas and Vedic Wisdom. This will be done through partnering with like-minded universities. We will partner with renowned educational and religious institutions to achieve maximum reach. We will seek to partner with corporates to conduct rejuvenating programmes for their employees. In all that we do, essential qualities that all stakeholders who will be associated with the institution must possess include be bhakti and interest on the Vedas and Sanathan Dharma, in addition to excellence in regular academic education.

This campus will also provide simple housing facilities for about 25 teachers connected with the secular school (Campus 3), as well as about 20 houses for support staff of the Vedapathashala and the secular school. These facilities will be progressively ramped up, with about half of this target being operational by 2029. There will be facilities for dining and rest for the pilgrims who come to visit the Sri Sharada temple.

Ours will be a sought-after institution for those seeking to teach or learn Vedas, and for those seeking to do research on Vedic Wisdom. This research will be disseminated for eager seekers from all walks of life through publication and immersive studies.

By 2029, the medium of communication in this campus will be primarily Samskrutam. There will be ten Veda Adhyapaks and about 100 Veda vidyarthis. Research into vedic wisdom will be an integral part of the deliverables of the institution. The institution would have started to create a stream of competent Veda vidyarthis, who will go on to earn recognition from Sringeri Sharada Peetham for their proficiency in their chosen branch of the Vedas, and will go on to become ambassadors of the institution.

Campus 2, in the adjoining 24 acres, will have simple facilities for about 40 families, from across the world who can come and spend quality time for quiet reflection, while soaking in the spiritual ambience of Vedic Wisdom. This campus will have extensive natural agriculture, goshala, and dense green cover (trees and other foliage). About half of these facilities, as also facilities for stay of 10 support staff for this campus will be operational by 2029.

Campus 3, in the adjoining 6-acres will house a secular school that will eventually cater to theneeds of 500 children from nearby hamlets, villages and towns, as well as those who seek to have some immersion into the Sanatana Dharma and associated living. Through this school, we will provide high quality education for children from their very early years till their 12th standard (or equivalent), primarily catering to the needs of the predominantly impoverished tribal surrounding areas. The capacity of this school will be progressively ramped up, with the start of the school from the first standard, due to start by 2026.
